UniProtKB description: Thermostable pepstatin-insensitive serine-carboxyl proteinase (PubMed:10965051, PubMed:11983085, PubMed:8416942). Preferentially hydrolyzes synthetic peptides having an Ala or Pro residue at the P2 position and charged amino acids such as Glu or Arg at the P2' position (PubMed:10965051). In vitro, specifically hydrolyzes the Leu-15-Tyr-16 peptide bond in oxidized insulin B-chain (PubMed:8416942). Additional cleavage of oxidized insulin B-chain at Phe-25-Tyr-26 is detected at a considerably lower rate (PubMed:8416942). Can hydrolyze collagen and the chromogenic substrate azocoll (PubMed:12513991). Shows lower activity with albumin and casein (PubMed:12513991). Shows very weak tripeptidyl peptidase activity (PubMed:11983085).
