The cupped shape of the p35 binding interface matches the elbow-like bend between D2 and D3 in p40 [2]. The domain is often associated with family fn3, Pfam:PF00041.

On the other hand, administration of recombinant IL-12 may have therapeutic benefit in conditions associated with pathological Th2 responses [1,2].
