Acts by binding directly to the promoter region of the ramA gene (PubMed:22123696, PubMed:22948865, PubMed:23800819). Promoter binding may be inhibited partially by the small regulatory RNA StyR3, perhaps thereby ensuring a basal level of expression of RamA.
